Etna Interactive

Typography Worth Celebrating

For the launch of the new site, a typographic hero graphic was needed to celebrate the company’s 10 year anniversary. Exploring a few initial styles, I settled on a calligraphic approach and excitedly broke out my sketchbook, pencils, and calligraphy pens. Following this, its digitization brought challenges but also the ability to freely adjust spacing, weight, and color. For the final touches, shadows and cuts were added for depth and a background collage of images of Etna camaraderie for a personal touch. Here is a quick animation of my process.

As a web designer that loves analog, I enjoy projects like these and find they provide the digital medium a playful and human element. Etna Interactive is a company that values its employees and takes pride in its personalized work and I hope that this piece exemplifies that.
